Fourth day of the Danube Spring School

The fourth day of the Danube spring school was dedicated to some important environmental issues. The first lecture was given by Veselin Bežanović, PhD candidate at the Faculty of Technical Sciences University of Novi Sad. He talked about wastewater treatment and problems with that kind of treatment in Novi Sad. It was spoken about some important organic and inorganic pollutants of the Danube River in our Region and beyond, as well as about possible solutions with the aim to build adequate system of waste water treatment. Currently, this is the crucial environmental problem in the city of Novi Sad.

Between the lectures participants gave presentations about culture, customs and traditions of their countries which began at the cultural evening yesterday. The guests from Czech Republic, Albania, Romania, Hungary, Austria, Germany and Slovenia made interesting presentations about their national cultural heritage.

After lunch, the work was continued by the lecture of Bojan Gligić, regional manager of ESO tron company, Novi Sad. This is the only company in this region, which is engaged in purchasing, collecting and recycling organic waste oils and another organic waste. During the lecture, there were represented company's working methods as well as the procedure of recycling of edible oils.

After today’s lectures participants continued with the group work on developing their project ideas. Presentations are going to be tomorrow.
