DAReC representatives at the Conference INVITATION: »DUNA ROMANI LUMA«, April 19 -21, 2015 in Ulm

The Conference INVITATION: »DUNA ROMANI LUMA« is organized by Baden-Württemberg Stiftung in cooperation with Renovabis, Europäische Donau-Akademie, Rat der Donaustädte und regionen, EUSDR PA 10, Hoffnung für Osteuropa, Diözese Rottenburg-Stuttgart, Erzdiözese Freiburg, Evangelische Landeskirche in Württemberg, and Evangelische Landeskirche in Baden. Organizers aim is at building bridges between Roma initiatives in East and West, at strengthening existing partnerships and projects, and moreover at establishing a mutual network.
With more than 6 million people, Roma societies are the biggest minority within the Eastern Danube region. They are predominantly marginalized and discriminated. Due to the multitude of challenges for Eastern and Western countries and in light of lacking success of integration measures so far, we have to develop an integrated longterm strategy to solve these problems. The main aim of the meeting is to bring together key stakeholders to discuss approaches of policy and project development related to Roma inclusion as well as strengthening partnerships and networks. The Roma NGO activists and all governmental, supranational, and church-related representatives as well as representatives of the European Union are taking an active part in the conference.
During the conference as a methodology for self-organizing conference tracks several “Open Space” will be organized, which relies on participation by people being passionate about discussing the topics of the conference.
DAReC representatives will participate at the conference and present organization and project “Rome people in Banat 1941-1945”.
The conference will be held in the Danube city of Ulm.
